> To put a static site online, gather the HTML, CSS, JavaScript and images in one folder with an index.html home page and upload it as an archive or from GitHub. Netrun recognizes the static site and gives you an HTTPS link — no buying hosting, no FTP and no certificate setup. For a portfolio, a business card or a landing page the Free plan is enough: the site sleeps without visitors and wakes on its own when opened.

- A static site's home page should be named index.html and sit at the root of the folder.
- A static site needs no build: Netrun recognizes it and serves the files as they are.
- Netrun gives a static site an HTTPS link automatically.
- On the Netrun Free plan a site lives as long as you like: it sleeps without visitors and wakes in a few seconds when the link is opened.
- A custom domain can be connected on the Pro plan, and each domain gets HTTPS.

To put even a simple site of a few files online, you usually have to buy hosting, figure out FTP, connect a domain and set up HTTPS. For a portfolio or a one-page business card that is far too much hassle.

In Netrun you just upload the folder with your site, and we serve it over a link with a secure connection. Here is how to do it.

## 1. Gather your site files

Put all the files in one folder: name the main page index.html, and keep the styles, scripts and images next to it. Check that the site opens on your computer by double-clicking index.html.

## 2. Upload the site to Netrun

Pack the folder into a ZIP archive or connect a GitHub repository. Netrun recognizes that this is a static site, so there is nothing to build or configure.

## 3. Get the link

After the upload Netrun gives you a public address with HTTPS. The site opens right away for everyone you share the link with.

## 4. Update whenever you need to

Changed some text or images? Upload the new version and the site updates at the same address.

For a portfolio, a business card or a landing page the Free plan is enough. Sites built with a website builder or an AI tool are deployed the same way. [Try Netrun](https://netrun.io/).

## Common questions

### Why don't images or styles load on my site?

Usually because of paths: the link points to a path on your own computer, or the letter case does not match the file name. On a server file names are case-sensitive, so photo.JPG and photo.jpg are different files. Use paths relative to index.html.

### Can I publish a site made with a website builder or an AI tool?

Yes, as long as you have the finished files with an index.html home page. Upload the folder as is and Netrun serves it at a link.

### Can I connect my own domain to a static site?

Yes, on the Pro plan: you add your domain in the dashboard and it gets HTTPS right away. On the Free plan the site runs at the link you are given.

### How do I add a contact form to a static site?

A static site cannot send emails or store data on its own. A form needs a small backend or a third-party form service; the backend can also be published on Netrun as a separate project.

### How do I update a published site?

Upload the new version of the files in your dashboard and the site updates at the same address. There is no automatic publishing on git push.
