Frequently asked questions

The essentials, in plain language

What is Netrun?
Netrun is a cloud platform that runs your code online. You upload a project, answer a couple of questions and get a working link. Servers, Docker, nginx, the domain and SSL are all on us.
How do I upload a project?
Two ways: upload a ZIP archive with your code, or import a repository from GitHub, including a private one. From there Netrun deploys everything for you.
Do I need my own server or VPS?
No. Netrun deploys your project on its own servers. There is no VPS to rent, no systemd or nginx to configure and no certificates to renew — all of that runs for you.
Do I need to know how to work with Docker?
No. Netrun detects which language your project uses and builds it for you. If you already have a Dockerfile or docker-compose, we support them, but you do not need to write them specially.
How is Netrun different from a VPS, Heroku or Railway?
A VPS is an empty server: the setup (Docker, nginx, SSL, updates) and the upkeep are on you. Netrun does this for you — upload your code and get a working link, with no server setup. Unlike foreign platforms such as Heroku and Railway, Netrun is billed in rubles and offers support in Russian.
How is Netrun different from Vercel and Render?
Vercel is built for frontends and serverless functions — not every backend or Telegram bot will run there. Render is closer in purpose, but it is a foreign service billed in foreign currency. Netrun runs any code — a website, an API or a bot — billed in rubles and with support in Russian.
How do I put a website online?
Upload your site code as a ZIP archive or from GitHub — Netrun builds it and gives you a working link with HTTPS. A static site (HTML, CSS, JS), a React app or a Python site all work. There is no domain to buy and no server or certificates to set up.
How much does it cost, and is there a free plan?
There is a free plan for one project — it sleeps when idle and wakes up on request. The paid plan works from your balance: you add funds, and payments are charged according to the plan. Current prices are shown on the plans page in your account.
Is this free hosting?
Netrun has a free plan for one project. On it, websites sleep when idle and wake up on request, while bots and background scripts run all the time. It is a fully free way to keep a project online without renting a server; for several projects there is a paid plan and slots you can buy.
Which languages and technologies are supported?
Python, Node.js, Go, Rust, Ruby, PHP, Java, .NET, Deno, Bun, Elixir, static sites and bash scripts. You can bring your own Dockerfile or docker-compose, but more often the stack is detected from your code automatically.
Can I run a Python project — Django, Flask or FastAPI?
Yes. Put your dependencies in requirements.txt — Netrun detects Python and builds the project for you. Django, Flask and FastAPI are supported; the app should listen on the port from the environment variable, and keys and database access are set as secrets rather than in the code.
Can I host a Telegram bot?
Yes. Upload the bot code and provide the token from BotFather (Telegram itself gives it to you when you create the bot) — Netrun starts the bot and keeps it running. No VPS and no manual setup needed.
Can I host a Discord bot?
Yes. Upload the bot code (for example, in discord.py or discord.js) and add the token from the Discord Developer Portal as a secret. Netrun starts the bot and keeps it running — no VPS and no manual setup needed.
Where can I host a Telegram bot for free?
Netrun has a free plan — on it you can keep one bot with no VPS and no server bills. Upload the code, provide the token from BotFather, and the bot starts. When you have more projects, you can move to a paid plan with extra slots.
Do I need to buy a domain and set up HTTPS?
No. Netrun gives your project a public address with HTTPS right away — the link with the padlock works out of the box. There is no domain to buy and no certificates to fuss with, it is all already included.
What happens if my app crashes?
We watch over projects and restart them if they fail. If something goes wrong, you can see the status and logs in your account and you get a notification.
