The essentials, in plain language
What is Netrun?
Netrun is a cloud platform that runs your code online. You upload a project, answer a couple of questions and get a working link. Servers, Docker, nginx, the domain and SSL are all on us.
Do I need my own server or VPS?
No. Netrun deploys your project on its own servers. There is no VPS to rent, no systemd or nginx to configure and no certificates to renew — all of that runs for you.
Do I need to know how to work with Docker?
No. Netrun detects which language your project uses and builds it for you. If you already have a Dockerfile or docker-compose, we support them, but you do not need to write them specially.
Do I need git if I have never used it?
No. You can simply upload an archive with your code — neither git nor a terminal is needed. And if GitHub is more convenient, you can import the project from there, including a private repository.
How is Netrun different from a VPS, Heroku or Railway?
A VPS is an empty server: the setup (Docker, nginx, SSL, updates) and the upkeep are on you. Netrun does this for you — upload your code and get a working link, with no server setup. Unlike foreign platforms such as Heroku and Railway, Netrun accepts payment by Russian card and via SBP and offers support in Russian.
How much does it cost, and is there a free plan?
There is a free plan for one project. A website on it lives as long as you like: it sleeps when idle and wakes up on request. A bot or a background script runs for 24 hours — enough to try everything out — and after that it needs the Pro plan. The Pro plan is paid for once, for the term you choose — a month, three months or a year: you pay and use it until the paid term ends. Current prices are shown on the plans page in your account.
Can I pay with a Russian card or via SBP?
Yes. You can pay for a plan or a place for a project with a Russian card or via SBP, even though prices are shown in dollars. Your card is charged the ruble amount at the current rate — no foreign card and no currency exchange on your side. Besides card and SBP we also accept cryptocurrency.
Can I host a Telegram bot?
Yes. Upload the bot code and provide the token from BotFather (Telegram itself gives it to you when you create the bot) — Netrun starts the bot, and no VPS or manual setup is needed. On the free plan the bot runs for 24 hours so you can check everything; to keep it running around the clock, switch to the Pro plan.
Is my data kept when I update the code?
Yes, as long as your data lives in persistent storage. For a regular project that is the /data folder: anything your app saves there stays in place when you update the code or restart, and you can browse and download the files on the "Data" tab. If you described the services yourself in docker-compose, persistent storage means the named volumes from your file, and such a project has no /data folder. Files written outside persistent storage are created from scratch on the next deploy. Your project link stays the same either way.
